2022.01.26 23:48 NickH415 Me m(20) ex f(18) why does my ex who dumped me text me first then I text her we chat a little bit then she’ll leave me on read for hours or even days? And repeat this.
Me and my ex I’ll spare most of the details aren’t together anymore. I was devastated and we didn’t talk for around 3-4 weeks. She messaged me backs asking how I was I told her and she left me on read for two days. She comes back ask me many questions about what I have been up to in the 4 weeks we didn’t talk. We chit chatted for a few hours and she left me on delivered even tho she wasn’t busy. She comes back text me we chit chat I text her back a question as she texted me questions and was talking to me and she ignores me for a day. She comes back the next day text me back we chit chat she ignores me she agreed to call at 11 we call for 4 hours. She text me back the next afternoon we chit chat for a couple minutes she leaves me on read again and it’s been 6 hours now even though I saw her active on video games and discord. Keep in mind every time she left me on delivered or read I saw her on discord or playing video games she has no job and her life isn’t exceptionally busy atm from when we talked at all.
Tl;dr why does she keep coming back texting me acts very mildly interested she leaves me on read repeats. If she wanted nothing to do with me why would she call me for 4 hours the last night then text me in the afternoon then leave what I said on read replying to her text she sent me. (When she’s not even busy on games and stuff) I don’t know what to do and I still have feelings for her it’s really impacting my mental health. I don’t think telling her how I actually feel would matter.

2022.01.26 23:48 Electronic-World-774 Question about downsampling resolution
I’m currently using my monitor with some small black borders cuz there’s some dead pixels on the side that are really ugly. However some games will automatically resize the window regardless of the resolution I set in windows settings or nvidia control panel. Is there anyway to limit the maximum output resolution the pc is sending to the monitor?

2022.01.26 23:48 ispilledmysprite My (25F) mother (60F) recently got back with my abusive father (63M) and I dont know how to help
This is going to be long- please bear with me
My parents have always had a rocky relationship but I only came to see it when I was around 16 when he drove me home drunk from a day trip out with my friends at around 3pm. I was texting my friend at the time about what was happening and she had told her parents and it ended up with police at our house but no charges and I still don't know how no charges were filed but here we are. She had taken his side and said that he wasn't aware he was picking me up and it ended up with me being kicked out of the house for the night.
NB: I'm not really sure how to word this because they have always been financially supportive of me academically as I've pursued a PhD so my "wedding fund" has gone towards an "academic fund" which is fine by me but, although I am financially independent now, I do feel guilty about feeling this way as I wouldnt be this far along in my career without them.
My mum had always been the income for the family, although dad did have a job he retired early to look after me and basically be a SAHD. He neglected this role to drink. He would drink a 70cl of whiskey everyday but a couple of beers would have him in the same state- man just couldn't hold his drink well ironically, and I had countless not fully cooked microwaved meals frozen in the middle because of it, but I became a pretty good cook because of this. Last year mum had had enough and decided to move out and filed for divorce. She hated the thought of leaving the house she made her home but he refused to move, and as both names were on the house it would have been split 50/50. He told her he would buy her out and she agreed and she bought a new house a few towns over and she had settled in well. He went back on his offer after talking to a solicitor.
For months I was there for her doubled over in agony in tears. Leaving my friends and my life so I could go and be with her and hug her and make sure she was okay and not going to be reckless. She loved that man but it was not a good relationship and she knew this was for the best and I kept telling her the first year is the hardest it will get better. She ended up in hospital with heart problems and only told him because it was the day before my graduation and he didn't even send a text and she told me she never wanted to see him again after that. I told her that was completely fine and that if she did go back she wouldn't see me as much because I don't want to be around him. Last week she told me she had moved back in with him and they are back together and my heart just sank. She said herself she knows it's going to end in her moving out again, and I just don't understand why she would go back if she knows that's what is going to happen. I was there for her so much though the first break and I'm not sure I have it in me to do the same again even if that's selfish. I told her she should go to therapy and she said she was thinking of couples counselling. I told her no, she needs therapy by herself before seeking a reconciliation. I'm so lost I just want her to be happy and I dont think she will be with him. Has anyone else been through anything similar? How did you cope?

2022.01.26 23:48 GILMD The best approach to reforming the American healthcare system (results of a Reddit survey)
In a survey I posted last week here on Reddit, I asked the question: “What do you believe would be the best approach to reforming the American healthcare system?” The choices I presented were 4 of the most popular proposals for reform over the past decade, and a final option to “Scrap our dysfunctional current system and rebuild from scratch.”
Of the 766 people who responded (thank you!), 4% chose “Privatize all health insurance and have healthcare run by for-profit insurance companies,” a view shared by many Republican legislators. Only 9% chose to “Continue to build on (or “tweak”) the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)”, which is the current focus of most Democratic lawmakers. 19% wanted the slightly more aggressive approach, “Make Medicare available for everyone who wants to buy it,” which has sometimes been called the “public option.” Joe Biden proposed this as a possible approach during the Democratic primaries.
The remaining 68% wanted much more radical changes. 56% of these radicals (or 38% of the total) wanted to “Ban private health insurance and adopt a Single Payer System,” while the other 44% (or 30% of the total) wanted to “Scrap our dysfunctional current system and rebuild from scratch.”
We have a good idea of what a Single Payer System might look like. Bernie Sanders and John Conyers have proposed versions of this. But what about Scraping the entire system and starting over? What kind of system should replace it?
If we had the opportunity to completely rebuild the American healthcare system, what would be the most important features that we would want in it?
Below are several features that I believe should be included in the new system. Please rank these in order of preference and add any you feel I missed (Unfortunately the Poll feature does not allow ranking).
In order of preference, please rank the features you think are needed in a rebuilt American healthcare system?

2022.01.26 23:48 AutistiCatgirl I’m diagnosed but there’s something that’s always made me feel like an outlier even within the autistic community…. I don’t have problems with social cues or reading faces, in fact I’m painfully hyper aware of them.
I struggle with most things we autistics tend to struggle with. Poor eye contact, meltdowns, stimming, selective mutism, social related exhaustion.
However, there’s one thing that most autistics I know have difficulty with that I do not… social cues and expressions. Those little subtle signs that someone is not interested in talking to you, the body language that indicates they are uncomfortable. Do you know what I’m talking about?
I don’t have a problem with this and in fact I feel that I’m HYPER aware of it. I notice every thing. I notice the little eye flinches, I notice the raised eyebrows, the eye squints, I notice when they shift their bodies away ever so slightly.
In part, I think this is because I spent a lot of time studying people through quiet IRL observation as well as watching a lot of TV and film and having an interest in acting from a young age.
However I think much of this is, for me, intuitive in a way that most autistic people don’t seem to relate to. From a very young age I was always the first to notice when someone seemed sad and I would be the first to ask them what’s wrong.
Sometimes it has me questioning my diagnosis, so I’m unsure how to feel. Does anyone else possibly relate?

2022.01.26 23:48 Nordric Someone help please
Ok so I was talking to a girl that goes to my school and I kinda like her since I talk to her daily on discord and I grew a affinity for her. So today she decided to tell me who she likes and its one of my classmates saying that he was cute, funny, and all that shiet. Since I had early dismissal I didn't know who it was since it was period 7. So I was playing the guessing game for abt 5 minutes then I guessed and abt 5 minutes later it was my turn to say stuff abt crushes and shiet. So then I keep denying but she wanted to know so I told her and I said that I wanted to say something before she went to sleep and that thing was "ly," which is a stupid way to end it but I wanted to say that. And now I feel embarrassed as shiet and hella depressed. So thats fun and idk if she likes me back bc I said to not make fun of me abt it after and she said "I won't idiot. Gn~" and idk!!!! Girls are complicated pls help!
